how to get help

referrals

To qualify for help, families and individuals have to be referred to New Hope Food Bank by registered care professional groups, such as Social Services, Doctors Surgeries, Sure Start, Probation Service, Citizens Advice Bureau, Age Concern etc.

These referral agencies have set guidelines as to the 'definition of crisis' to help qualify bona fide people in need of help from the food bank.

Once crisis is established the client is then able to receive a food parcel from the food bank. The food bank will provide a parcel of nutritionally balanced meals for a period of seven days.

Within 24hrs of being referred, New Hope Food Bank will deliver the food parcel to the client's home.

The client can claim up to four parcels, in extreme circumstances where it is evident that all means have been carried out to alleviate the crisis without success, a further parcel can be issued.
